- May 6-12 & May 12-18
This extraordinary week is all about healing and creating a connection to your body, your mind, and your spirit. Wendy and Natalie are truly honored and excited to demystify the path to taking a week off of responsibilities and possibly changing your life forever! We will help you to create a practice to suit your individual Dosha type from the ancient Ayuvedic Phillosophy, so you can practice in your everyday life. Quantum Yoga is a dynamic flowing practice, synchronizing breath with movement (Vinyasa), that can be a powerful tool set within a holistic approach. It stabilizes emotions, while supporting a stream of consciousness that leads to greater mental stillness and focus for your individual needs. But wait, there’s more! You will eat amazing vegetarian cuisine; learn to surf in the warm tropical Pacific Ocean, experience bliss in our spa natural, sleep with the sounds of ocean waves, wake up Costa Rica’s jungle wildlife, and much more! We are looking forward to meeting and knowing you!
Quantum Yoga
Quantum Yoga is a dynamic flowing practice, synchronizing breath with movement (Vinyasa), that can be a powerful tool set within a holistic approach. It stabilizes emotions, while supporting a stream of consciousness that leads to greater mental stillness and focus for your individual needs. Think of it as a “self-healing system” that involves an active connection between body/energy and mind/heart. This yogic path resonates with your personal requirements at all times, balances your inner nature, brings you into a state of greater harmony with the environment, and is a spiritual system that adopts the holistic approach from the ancient Indian healing science of Ayurveda.
In Ayurveda, the prakriti describes an induvidual’s “nature” at birth, being compiled of a varying distribution of the three doshas; Kapha, Pitta and Vata. This body-mind constitution does not change throughout life, but each dosha can become unbalanced due to environmental and external factors.
Restorative Yoga
Restorative might best described as a supported, conscious body/mind relaxation practice. When supported with props, the body relaxes and opens, releasing tension and stored-up toxins that can cause illness. You work more slowly but actively at the postures until your body begins to easily move through a sequence, or flow, of movements. You then start working on more advanced postures to carry on strengthening and increasing flexibility. A yoga session will leave you feeling physically and mentally balanced.
How do we combine the two?
In our morning classes you will learn and practice three flowing sequences. Each one is designed to balance and re-align your Dosha, according to Ayuveda. For example, Birds is designed to regulate Vatta, the Ayuvedic dosha, air, Heros is designed to regulate the dosha pitta, fire and Lotus Mandala is designed to regulate the dosha kappa, earth-water. We will help you discover what dosha you are.
Our evening class will begin with guided meditation and blissful restorative yoga to melt layers of stress, soothe the nervous system, clear the mind, and lift the spirit. You will hold postures for longer periods of time which will help you to create more healing and flexibility. We will introduce and practice meditation, pranayama (breath techniques), mudra (hand gestures), chanting, and kriyas (kundalini cleansing rituals).
Each day in both classes we will focus and learn about a new Dosha in the body. you will learn how to create a yoga sequence specifically for your needs. Our goal is for you to leave feeling rejuvenated, revived, and ready to continue this practice in your everyday life.

Wendy

I began practicing and fell in love with yoga in the spring of 1995. My journey began as a Bikram Yoga student, which I continued to practice for many years. After moving to San Diego in 1998, I began practicing Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, and Iyengar yoga as well as exploring the many benefits of pranayama & meditation. I started to notice many changes happening within myself, not only physically but mentally and spiritually as well. Yoga was changing my life & all I wanted to do was learn more about this amazing lifestyle and philosophy. I completed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified program focusing on Power Vinyasa Yoga in San Diego. This experience is what inspired me to become a teacher.
For the past 6 years of my life I have been traveling the world to learn more about myself, more from other incredible teacher’s and to live the life of a “yogi.” I have integrated the teachings and various traditions I have learned and experienced along the way into my own classes to make the practice & understanding of “living yoga” accessible to all.
As the manager of International Yoga pavilions, I have taught classes and retreats in San Diego, Guam, Thailand, Morocco, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.
This has brought to my life a positively serene consciousness that I intend to expand & spread to others!
I like to encourage my students to flow with their breath, open their heart, live in the present moment, & relax the mind. I truly love teaching, seeing the transformations my students experience and hope to inspire others through-out my life long journey.
Natalie
I first stepped onto the mat and began practicing yoga 8 years ago, about the I same time I first jumped onto surfboard. This was the start of an intertwined adventure where surfing and yoga opened up opportunities to truly live my dreams.
Experiencing a variety of disciplines (Hatha, Vinyasa, Anusara, Ashtanga, Bikram)
in many different spaces (UK, Thailand, Australia, Bali) through wonderful teachers enabled me to acknowledge the vast yogic world and humbly dedicate myself to learning more.
The changes that occurred in my body and the benefits and balance I felt in my whole being was proof that this spiritual path was for me, resonating deeply with philosophies of yoga it became clear it was something I had been searching for.
In Morocco my learning went to the next level where I was teaching surfing for yoga surf retreats, it was where I was introduced to Quantum Yoga and coincidentally where I also met Wendy. I chose to study Quantum Yoga because of its Vinyasa based asanas, connection between modern spiritual laws, new discoveries in quantum physics and ancient Ayurvedic healing techniques with the added bonus of the course being based in the birthplace of yoga; India. I learnt so much more and went on to teach at surf based retreats in Sri Lanka, Bali and Morocco. It is a joy to bring Quantum Yoga to Costa Rica and to share the foundations of an intuitive style of practicing which can be used to enhance your surfing performance, balance your dosha and improve your overall wellbeing – paving the way for health, happiness and enlightenment.
